Tradition paired with the ultra modern: Klett Group cooperates with the Games Academy

At a joint press conference hosted in Berlin today, the Klett Group and the Games Academy announced the long term cooperative plans of the two companies to be rolled out immediately.

Klett Group has acquired a stake in the Games Academy, which offers new development perspectives for both partners: both, the education company, which is steeped in tradition, and Europe’s leading special vocational college for the training of skilled computer and video game industry specialists, have identified vast future potential inherent in their cooperation.

Among the aims of the cooperation are the expansion and optimization of a practice-driven education curriculum related to topics gaming – visualization – learning. The Games Academy operates facilities in Berlin and Frankfurt/Main, where it trains designers, programmers, artists as well as producers of video games. The educational institution was established in 2000. Since 2010, it has also been offering Film Art & Animation and Interactive Audio Design programmes. Two years ago, the Games Academy established a branch in Vancouver/British Columbia, Canada, which will begin operations in 2013. The goal in partnership with the Klett Group is to further expand the proven learning and teaching concepts of the Games Academy (vocational training as a positive life experience, use of technical systems to support the communication of knowledge), both domestically and internationally.

Thomas Dlugaiczyk, the managing director of the Games Academy, is pleased with the partnership: “Thanks to the Klett Group we now have on board an exciting and strong partner for the future.
