Gains in market share, internationalisation and expansion of on-site learning and further education institutions

The educational publishers of the Klett Group have held up well in competitive markets and gained market share, both in Germany and abroad. “Teachers appreciate that we provide them with the suitable content for successful lessons, whether in print or digital form. Because: it’s the content that counts,” stated Philipp Haußmann, spokesperson of the Management Board, Ernst Klett AG. With the acquisition of educational publishers Profil in Croatia and Novi Logos in Serbia at the beginning of 2015, Klett has further strengthened its position in the Southeast European education markets.

In the successful business unit of specialist distance learning schools, the Klett Group is positioning itself internationally. With the internationalisation of the Wilhelm Büchner Hochschule, Klett has taken a step into the foreign continued education market. In the future, the higher education institution will also target its English-language courses towards foreign students.

With the acquisition of Best Sabel GmbH at the beginning of 2015, Klett has expanded its on-site learning institutions in Berlin, adding further kindergartens and primary schools, as well as a secondary school and a vocational academy to its portfolio. Just a few months ago the Klett Group also acquired 50 percent of FRÖBEL International GmbH, which runs day-care centres in Australia, Turkey and Poland.

"Whether it's in the continued development of digital products or the strengthening of our expertise and capacities in the operation of day-care centres and schools, our primary goal is always to create a high-quality educational portfolio in all of our business divisions," confirms Haußmann.
