“Musikfest Stuttgart” visits Klett

– Press Release,

On the 3rd of September, during the “Musikfest Stuttgart” (Music Festival Stuttgart), the company grounds of the Stuttgart-based Klett Group hosted the Russian “Terem Quartet”. In perfect late-summer weather, around 200 concert goers witnessed J. S. Bach’s music meet the Russian soul at the Klett site. The Klett Group has been a cooperation partner of the Stuttgart International Bach Academy for many years and for the first time this year a venue for the Stuttgart music festival.

During an open air concert on the 3rd of September, Klett hosted the Russian “Terem Quartet” in the company grounds. With a bajan (accordion), two tiny domras (Russian lute), one double bass, and incredible virtuosity, the ensemble turned Bach’s familiar music into a foreign adventure.

The concert was part of the new “Unternehmen Musik” (Enterprise Music” series of the International Bach Academy, where company grounds are used as a backdrop to host public concerts during the Stuttgart music festival. “As an educational company, the Klett Group supports projects that further cultural sponsorship in Stuttgart. We have been closely linked to the Stuttgart International Bach Academy for many decades. We are very proud to contribute to the Stuttgart music festival as a venue,” says Philipp Haußmann, Spokesperson of the Management Board of the Ernst Klett AG.

In Russian, “Terem” means “large open house.” Openness is the programme of “Terem Quartet”– who also performed in the Vatican for Pope John Paul II. –, played in 2014 at an open air concert on Munich’s Odeon square and opened the Winter Olympics in Sochi in that same year.
