Special recognition for the Klett Group’s Polish start-up, Laniqo: Artur Nowakowski, the company’s co-founder and Chief Technology Officer (CTO), has been named by TranslaStars as one of 17 innovators shaping the future of language technology.
Featuring industry experts from companies including DeepL, ElevenLabs and Phrase, TranslaStar’s list highlights people who are driving the transition from traditional translation processes to AI-native, adaptive solutions.
The award recognises Laniqo’s innovative approach in the field of AI-supported translation. The start-up is developing data protection-compliant solutions that adapt to company-specific technology, and translate complex documents precisely. It fine-tunes and optimises modern open-source language models to meet industry-specific requirements.
Artur Nowakowski brings academic expertise from machine translation research carried out at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, Poland into the development of the platform. The team behind Laniqo first won international acclaim in 2022 when it took home a prize at the renowned Conference on Machine Translation (WMT). This led to a collaboration with PONS Langenscheidt, which supported the further development of the technology.
Laniqo was founded in 2023 and is headquartered in Poznań, Poland. The platform combines academic research with real-world language technology and offers text and document translation, quality checks, translation memories and glossaries. Laniqo is a spin-off of Adam Mickiewicz University and PONS Langenscheidt GmbH.
